Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of Azerbaijan Ramin Mammadov met with President of the International Council for the Day of Vesak Phra Brahmapundit
On May 6, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of Azerbaijan Ramin Mammadov met with Phra Brahmapundit, President of the International Council for the Day of Vesak, as part of his visit to Vietnam.
During the meeting, it was noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the atmosphere of tolerance has been strengthened in our country, and this area has become a priority direction of state policy. It was noted that Azerbaijan, where religious communities live together in peace and solidarity, is one of the rare countries where discrimination on religious and racial grounds and anti-Semitism have never been recorded. The atmosphere of coexistence, which has deep historical roots and has developed to this day and become a daily way of life of society, constitutes the social basis of multiculturalism in our country. Ramin Mammadov also provided information on the work carried out by the State Committee to develop mutual cooperation with religious confessions and support the activities of religious organizations.
At the same time, the importance of correctly conveying the essence of religions and humanistic values to people on a global scale, expanding cooperation between people of different religions, and strengthening mutual trust was emphasized at the meeting.
