YAP Deputy Chairman meets with Vietnam’s Communist Party General Secretary
On January 26, Tahir Budagov, Deputy Chairman and Head of the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), met with To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Highlighting the deep-rooted Azerbaijan-Vietnam relations, the meeting noted that those ties were established during the USSR era, and were marked by the historical visits of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to Vietnam in 1983, and the great Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh to Azerbaijan in 1959.
Fondly recalling his visit to Azerbaijan last May, General Secretary To Lam noted that the adoption of the Joint Declaration on a Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and Vietnam had elevated the bilateral relations to a new level.
The YAP Deputy Chairman congratulated To Lam on behalf of the Azerbaijani ruling party on his reelection as the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Communist Party.
They stressed the role of relations between the ruling parties of both countries in developing bilateral ties.
During the visit, Tahir Budagov also met with Nguyen Minh Vu, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, exploring current state and development of bilateral relations.
