Ms. Leyla Aliyeva has viewed the world’s largest circular carpet in the history of carpet weaving, which is being made for the Shusha Mosque.
The carpet, which belongs to the "Karabakh" group and carries elements of the "Khatai" carpet, is mainly being woven in the Ismayilli and Shabran workshops. The work on the carpet, woven by 150 female carpet makers, began in December of last year.
On October 27, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Association, Ms. Leyla Aliyeva, visited the weaving process of this magnificent carpet. After familiarizing herself with the carpet, Ms. Aliyeva spent time with the weavers and personally tied a knot, becoming part of this historic carpet.
