Tourism potential of Azerbaijan was presented in Hanoi.
On September 8, 2025, Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism, in collaboration with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Vietnam and Azerbaijan Tourism Board successfully hosted the cultural and tourism event “Experience Azerbaijan” in Hanoi. The program brought together Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai, Deputy Chairwoman of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, ambassadors, tourism experts, and students of the College to strengthen bilateral ties and highlight Azerbaijan’s cultural and tourism potential.
In her welcome remarks, Trinh Thi Thu Ha, Rector of Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism, emphasized the importance of cultural exchange in fostering friendship between the two countries.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Vietnam Shovgi Mehdizada highlighted Azerbaijan’s growing partnership with Viet Nam, particularly after the two nations upgraded relations to a Strategic Partnership in May 2025 during the state visit of To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, to Azerbaijan.
Florian Sengstschmid presented Azerbaijan’s tourism development strategy and invited Vietnamese travelers to explore the country’s blend of ancient heritage, modern lifestyle, and diverse natural landscapes.
Gunel Alakbarova from the Azerbaijan Tourism Board followed with a detailed presentation on tourism potential and destinations of Azerbaijan under the theme “Experience Azerbaijan.”
The event also featured a short film showcasing Azerbaijan’s landscapes, a Q&A session, and a special Vietnamese tea culture presentation, creating a symbolic cultural bridge between the two nations.
