Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of Azerbaijan met with the Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Vietnam

On May 6, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations Ramin Mammadov met with the Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Dao Ngoc Dung as part of his visit to Vietnam.

The Chairman of the Committee noted that under the leadership and care of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, consistent measures are being taken to develop and promote the system of national and spiritual values, traditions of tolerance and multiculturalism of our people. Ramin Mammadov provided information on state-religion relations in Azerbaijan, the current situation and realities in the religious sphere, as well as the measures taken by our country in the direction of interreligious dialogue. It was brought to attention that the protection of historical and cultural heritage, national and spiritual values, including the restoration and protection of religious monuments, material and cultural monuments, is always in the spotlight in our country. Emphasizing that Azerbaijan is a multinational and multi-confessional country, the Chairman of the State Committee stated that interreligious harmony and the tradition of coexistence are a characteristic feature of our people. Ramin Mammadov invited the Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Vietnam Dao Ngoc Dung to Azerbaijan.

The Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Vietnam Dao Ngoc Dung accepted the invitation with pleasure and said that the experience of countries with rich traditions of tolerance is of great importance for interreligious dialogue activities. The Minister, who highly appreciated Azerbaijan's development of dialogue, cooperation and partnership among civilizations, also touched upon the prospects of cooperation in the religious field.

During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest, and it was emphasized that cooperation in the direction of promoting tolerance and interreligious dialogue and coexistence in the international community is in line with the common goals of both organizations.
