A joyous Novruz celebration was held by the Embassy in Hanoi

On March 19, a joyous Novruz celebration was held by the Embassy at the Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism. The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Vietnam participated in the celebration by presenting its culinary samples.

The event was attended by representatives of state and government structures of Vietnam, cultural and public figures, businessmen, representatives of diplomatic missions, the chairman, honorary chairman and members of the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Association, Vietnamese educated in Azerbaijan, media representatives and compatriots living in this country.

At the beginning of the event, Ambassador Shovgi Mehdizada conveyed holiday greetings and noted that Novruz has a unique place in the centuries-old history of our people, noting that this holiday is a symbol of the arrival of spring, the awakening of nature, peace and solidarity.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Kanat Tumysh and the rector of the Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism Trinh Thi Thu Ha, in turn, emphasized the great importance of this event in terms of promoting cultural ties between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Vietnam, as well as the development of traditional friendly relations.

A presentation of delicious samples of Azerbaijani cuisine was held by a group of international chefs from Türkiye, Serbia, North Macedonia and Mauritius under the leadership of Azerbaijani chef and representative of the World Barbecue Association David Israfilov, who was invited as a special guest to the event. The guests were served pilaf, dolma, various types of kebabs and Novruz sweets.

The cultural program included performances of Azerbaijani and Vietnamese songs, and the traditional Novruz bonfire was lit. Holiday khonchas, decorated with Novruz sweets and sprouted wheat, were presented by students of the College in Azerbaijani national costumes and attracted particular interest from attendees.

The event was widely covered in the Vietnamese press.
