“Vietnam Days” was held in Baku

In commemoration of the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Azerbaijan, numerous events were organized in Baku as part of "Vietnam Days," involving both Azerbaijani and Vietnamese organizations.

Participants visited Heydar Aliyev Center, where the Ambassador presented to the Museum the archive photos of the historic visit of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to Vietnam in 1983.

The events commenced with a business forum featuring companies and business representatives from both countries, facilitated by a partnership between the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Vietnam National Association of Entrepreneurship (ViNen).

During the opening ceremony,  Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Shovgi Mehdizada, highlighted the historical significance of the visit 65 years ago, which marked the beginning of the friendship between the two nations, and the pivotal roles of National Leaders Ho Chi Minh and Heydar Aliyev in founding this relationship.

In his speech, the Ambassador once again extended condolences for the passing of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, acknowledging his significant contributions to his country’s development. He expressed solidarity with the people of Vietnam and shared information about condolence letters sent by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and various Azerbaijani state officials to their Vietnamese counterparts.

The opening ceremony was followed by the signing of agreements between KOBİA and ViNen, as well as between individual companies. Business-to-business meetings across different economic sectors led to preliminary cooperation agreements. The Vietnamese delegation also met with KOBİA Chairman Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency Fuad Naghiyev, Rector of the State Tourism and Management University Ilham Madatov, and Director of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan Farhad Jabbarov, engaging in fruitful discussions on future collaborations.

At the Azerbaijan Cinema Centre "Nizami," the Embassy, in cooperation with the Ministries of Culture and Cinema Unions of both countries, organized the premiere of the new Vietnamese movie "Đào, Phở và Piano" (Peach Blossom, Pho and Piano). Azerbaijani cinema specialists praised the professionalism of the film's creators.

Additionally, Azerbaijani and Vietnamese culinary experts presented Vietnamese dishes at a prestigious culinary center in Baku. Vietnamese guests were featured on a popular Azerbaijani TV channel to share their views of the visit.

Events commemorating the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to Baku will continue throughout the year in both Baku and Hanoi.
