The Hanoian Premiere of “Vietnam suite" was presented in Baku, Azerbaijan

On February 5, in Baku was celebrated the birthday of the great Azerbaijani and Soviet composer Gara Garayev, who wrote about 110 musical works known not only in Azerbaijan but also around the world. The event was held at the composer’s house museum, and it was attended by prominent musicians and officials, including Deputy Minister of Culture Murad Huseynov, Rector of the Baku Music Academy Farhad Badalbeyli, director of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Murad Adigozelzade, director of the museum and Garayev’s daughter Zuleikha Bagyrzade and many others. A special part of the event was dedicated to the premiere of the “Vietnam Suite”, which took place at the Hanoi Academy of Music on December 14, 2023. The “Vietnam Suite” was written by Gara Garayev in 1955 for the first Vietnamese documentary film “Vietnam”.

With great interest, the participants watched videos of the Hanoi premiere made by the national television of Vietnam. In his opening remarks, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam Shovgi Mehdizada shared information about the premiere of “Vietnam Suite" in Hanoi. The Ambassador also informed the participants about the history of friendship between our countries, the important role of national leaders President Heydar Aliyev and President Ho Chi Minh in the formation of friendship between the two peoples. The Ambassador stressed that, given that 2024 marks the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to Baku, the event held at the House-Museum of Gara Garayev is the first in a series of events to be organized in memory of this historic visit and friendship between Azerbaijan and Vietnam. At the end of the event, all speakers and participants expressed gratitude to their Vietnamese friends for their cooperation in organizing the premiere of “Vietnam Suite” in Hanoi and agreed to organize this premiere in Baku. Congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the Lunar New Year - Vietnamese TET holidays were conveyed to the friendly people of Vietnam.
