The premiere of “Vietnam Suite” written by Gara Garayev was held in Hanoi
The premiere of “Vietnam Suite” written by the prominent Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev for the first Soviet film “Vietnam” in 1954 was held in Hanoi with the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Viet Nam, supported by the embassies of Turkic-speaking countries to Viet Nam and organized by the Vietnam National Academy of Music which will be remembered as a historical event for Azerbaijan-Vietnam friendship.
The work was performed by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra and the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Honna Tetsuji, and the film was shown at the same time.
People’s artist of Kazakhstan, outstanding musician Aiman Mussakhajayeva participated at the concert as an honored guest.
Speaking at the concert, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Viet Nam Shovgi Mehdizada informed participants about the life and works of genius Gara Garayev and gave information about the great contributions of the composer to the world music treasure. Noting that the magnificent work written by the composer is a very important contribution to strengthening the friendship between the two nations, information was given about the attention paid to creative people and culture by the national leaders who laid the foundation of this friendship, President Heydar Aliyev and President Ho Chi Minh.
After the concert program, the guests were served delicious dishes of Azerbaijani national cuisine.
