“Vietsovpetro” branch of Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Association was inaugurated in Vung Tau city
On October 29, 2023, the “Vietsovpetro” branch of Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Association was inaugurated in Vung Tau city.
Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Vietnam Shovgi Mehdizada has been invited to the opening ceremony of the branch.
Chairman of the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Association Dang The Vinh, Chairwoman of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Vung Tau Province Do Thi Nhu Mai, Deputy General Director of “Vietsovpetro” Tran Quoc Thang, as well as the chief engineer and engineers, management staff of departments and divisions of the said company adressed the participants.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Shovgi Mehdizada underlined the historical day when the opening ceremony was being held. He thanked the organizers, saying that the opening ceremony was conducted on the same day and same place where Heydar Aliyev, National leader of Azerbaijan visited Vietnam 40 years ago as the head of biggest ever Soviet delegation, and first foreign high-ranking leader after the reunification of the country. The ambassador also said that the visit in 1983 had played a key role in development of the relations between our nations. Later, a film about the visit was shown.
During his speech the Deputy General Director of "Vietsovpetro" and Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Assosiation Tran Quoc Thang noted that the current initiative would make significant contributions to the development of traditionally friendly relations between Vietnam and Azerbaijan.
Chairman of the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Association Dang The Vinh marked the special significance of the new branch of the Association, its future role in strengthening the relations between the countries. He also informed participants about activities conducted by the Association during the recent years.
Chairwoman of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Vung Tau Province Do Thi Nhu Mai mentioned the historical role and future potential of Vung Tau in developing relations between the two countries, importance of involving young generations as well as business community to future friendship projects.
The ceremony was followed by a reception organized by “Vietsovpetro” where participants were served national Azerbaijani dishes, specially brought from Baku.
