H. E. Mr. Anar Imanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam met with H. E. Mr. Tran Dai Quang, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
On September 21, 2016 H. E. Mr. Tran Dai Quang, newly elected President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam received H. E. Mr. Anar Imanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam met with H. E. Mr. Tran Dai Quang, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. In the meeting there was exchange of ideas on the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vietnam in political, economic, trade, humanitarian, energy, education and tourism spheres.
In the meeting Mr. Tran Dai Quang emphasized that the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vietnam is in the high level and in this regard state visit of H. E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Vietnam on May 18-19, 2014 and official visit of H. E. Truong Tan Sang, ex-President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Azerbaijan on May 13-15, 2015 played a significant role. Mr. President said that historical friendship and cooperation between the two countries will be continued and further strengthened. Mr. Tran Dai Quang stressed that year by year trade turnover is growing between the two countries and besides the other spheres rapidly development of economic-trade cooperation is very essential. Mr. President emphasized that in order to develop cooperation in all spheres and strengthening mutual understanding the continuation of high level visits is very important and this will contribute to creating the basis for further development of relations and broadening mutually beneficial cooperation in all spheres.
Ambassador Anar Imanov, congratulated Mr. Tran Dai Quang on his election as the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and wished him success in his work for the welfare of Vietnamese people. Ambassador emphasized that bilateral relations have historical roots and this has been founded by the visit of first president of Vietnam Ho Chi Minh to Azerbaijan on 1959 and visit of the founder of modern Azerbaijan state Heydar Aliyev to Vietnam on 1983 as First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. Ambassador Anar Imanov especially stressed that bilateral relations has been developing rapidly nowadays and besides the high level visits the establishment of Friendship Groups at the Parliaments of the both countries, Azerbaijan – Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission on economic, trade, scientific and technical cooperation, Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Organisation, Center for Azerbaijani History and Culture Studies contributed to the development of different fields of bilateral cooperation. Ambassador said that opening of the Embassy of Vietnam in Azerbaijan would be strong impetus to the development of the cooperation between the two countries. In the meeting Ambassador requested to consider applying visa free regime for the citizens of Azerbaijan visiting Vietnam.
Mr. Tran Dai Quang asked Ambassador to convey his sincere greetings and good wishes to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and invited him to pay a visit to Vietnam at a convenient time.
