Mr. A.Imanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Vietnam met with Mr. Truong Quang Khanh, Deputy Minister of National Defence of Vietnam
On June 17, Ambassador A.Imanov held a meeting with Truong Quang Khanh, Deputy Minister of National Defence of Vietnam. During the meeting, issues of  cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vietnam in the military and military-technical spheres were discussed.
Mr. Truong Quang Khanh noted that traditional friendly relations between the two countries has created favorable conditions to develop cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vietnam. Deputy Minister expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for Azerbaijan’s support for Vietnam in hard days of this country. He said that there were many Vietnamese who studied in Azerbaijan, particularly in Azerbaijan Higher Military Naval School and currently working in high positions in the Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam.
The Ambassador A.Imanov stressed that there had been historically warm and friendly relations between the two countries. He noted that the relations between the two countries were activated and the main reasons for this are the official visits paid by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to Vietnam on 18-19 May, 2014 and by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mr. Truong Tang Sang to Azerbaijan on 13-15 May, 2015.  Ambassador stressed that the development of military cooperation between the two countries has been identified as a priority by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Vietnam. The Ambassador informed his counterpart on the measures taken by the Republic of Azerbaijan to strengthen its army and military industry. He noted that the Ministry of Defence Industry was established in Azerbaijan and a lot of military products which were imported from other countries earlier, today are manufactured by the military enterprises of the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan. A.Imanov said that Azerbaijan produces weapons and equipment based on the most modern technologies in the military sphere.   
During the meeting it was noted that there was a great potential for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of defense and military industry and it would be fruitful to use this potential for establishing bilateral cooperation in the military training and education, military-technical and military industry spheres.
